12-Pounder Napoleons in Augusta, Georgia

Napoleon cast by Leeds and Company in New Orleans in 1862 displayed at Augusta University.

Photos of two Napoleons taken yesterday at Augusta University (Augusta, GA) plus an additional photo taken several years ago of a Napoleon at the Augusta Museum. These photos are not my best work! I had a dog and a teenage daughter in tow (both of whom were inpatient to move along). One was cast by Leeds and Company in New Orleans in 1862. The other by Ames Manufacturing Company (Massachusetts) also in 1862. An article posted on an Augusta history page (linked in the comments) says there is another Napoleon on the campus that I missed. The other photo - taken in 2018 - shows the Augusta-cast Napoleon at the Augusta Museum. The photos also include the plaques next to each Napoleon on the campus. The sponsor and apparent author of the plaques is a C Tom Sutherland who is also the author of the internet article. Sadly a search for this gentleman’s name shows a 2019 obituary.
